Janousek & Stampfli Racing Boats

Henley Royal Regatta Diamond Challenge Sculls

We offer four different hull shapes:

S1 – The ‘classic’ Stampfli shape, available in a full range of average crew weights up to 110kg, 8.2m in length and the thinnest and least resistant of our single scull shapes.  We use this hull shape for the Janousek single scull.  Rigger options are as follows:

  • Aluminium 3 stay rigger (Janousek and Stampfli)
  • Aluminium wing (Janousek and Stampfli)
  • Carbon 2 stay (Stampfli only)
  • Carbon wing (Stampfli only) bow or stern mounted

X1 – The ‘tear drop’ Stampfli shape, developed by the Finnish Ship Technical Institute in Helsinki in partnership with Stampfli for 3 times Olympic Champion Pertti Karpinnen.  This shape is 8.1m long and available in a full range of average crew weights up to 110kg, with a bias towards more volume in the stern than the bow it provides more stability and confidence at the front end of the stroke.  Rigger options are as follows:

  • Aluminium 3 stay rigger
  • Aluminium wing
  • Carbon 2 stay
  • Carbon wing, bow or stern mounted

A1 – A lightweight shape available up to 80kg, 7.9m in length with a bias towards a deeper profile giving good rougher water capability.  Popular in Germany on the tidal sections of the Rhine and only available in a wing rigger format.  Rigger options are as follows:

  • Aluminium wing
  • Carbon wing, bow or stern mounted

FISA – Developed at the request of FISA as a standard for hull design we can build a full range of weights in this hull shape up to 110kg.  Rigger options are as follows:
